Open Source Visual Basic Audio Analysis Software

MP3Gain analyzes and losslessly adjusts mp3 files to a specified target volume. It does not simply do peak amplitude normalization. Instead, it performs statistical analysis to determine how loud the file actually sounds to the human ear.

Can handle MPEG1/2/2.5 layer 1/2/3 audio files and ID3v1/2 TAGs. Intended to automatize redundant operations on MP3 files and TAGs (ie renaming file, automated tag-filling and some other usefull features).

This frontend for ffmpeg batch analyzes audio files for Peak levels, peak and total RMS, and DC offset. Much faster than a typical audio editor with a statistics plugin, which first loads the file while generating a picture, then scans it a second time to find the statistics. This program does it all in one fell swoop, thus half the time. What's more, it was designed specifically for set and forget batch operation. The end product is a text file with the same filename as each audio file, in the same folder.
